This video was recorded on January 16th 2011 but I forgot to upload it. When is it okay to break a rule? As I've said before, I believe in individual freedoms and liberties. I believe that individual rights trump the rights of the masses. Following that theme I discuss briefly my take on what rules should be followed and when breaking rules is okay! A good way to judge if a rule or law is worth breaking is to use what I call the "rule scale". Does the benefit of breaking the rule outweigh the consequences of breaking that rule? Is it life or death? To me in Canada the chances of needing a firearm for self defense are low enough that the consequences of carrying a firearm for self defense outweigh the potential benefits, at least right now. The future might dictate a change in the balance of benefit over consequence. We need to stand up for what is right and sometimes we need to do things to live. Some of what I talk about is what I'd do regardless of the rules if the grid went down in the middle of the winter for heating. If I could not get propane for my indoor propane heater or of the propane was to expensive due to supply and demand I would have no problem breaking the rules and using a wood stove like the M1950 Yukon to heat my apartment.
